This is amazing! Thank you for teaching me how to use these tools! I am pumped about getting back into the classroom and implementing these tools into my curriculum.
I enjoyed the animoto and the activities with the story creating. What would really be neat is a Western Illinois Wiki for lesson plan ideas using blogs, wikis, podcasts, etc.
Some great ideas today! I would like to do the Wikis in class this fall. I could see it being used for creative writing or for projects in social studies. I would also like to explore the movie making some more. The kids would love this!
I can definitely see myself using a wiki just for class management. Having assignments and handouts available to students, especially those who have been absent, would be valuable. I can also see using this to post writings and peer edit those writings.
I will use this as a method for assessment of student learning as well as a technology lesson. We do not have computer classes in our elementary classes.
In upper level language classes, it is often difficult to come up with creative ways to practice the language. Blogging and Wikipages are things that the students enjoy and they can relate too. This will create more "real worl" situations where the students can practice their language skills!
This really tested my creativity. I better understand what some of my students are talking about at school and know how to use it. I enjoyed the ability to play in a safe environment.
Very cool ideas! Sure wish we had better technology in our school to really utilize these ideas. However, many things can still be used. Really like the idea of creative writing in groups using your ideas!
Wow! So much information, but I think I could do this with my classes. Hopefully we would have access--out internet guy blocks personal networking type sites. Some of the kids would already have some of this knowledge, but I'm sure many wouldn't. I would love to have them share their writing with each other and possibly with my other classes.
I got so much out of this session. I can see a number of uses for the wikkis, blogs and animoto. It will be fun to play this summer and create something for next year. Thank you!
Thank you. I enjoyed the videos. I plan to continue to use pbworks in class. I will also use animoto as a way for other teachers to create short videos (another one would be photostory 3). I enjoyed seeing different ways to present different information.
This was a great three hours! I have learned about many great tools that I will be able to use in the classroom. I know that I will be able to use this in my classroom and WILL be using it in my classroom.
